Dubai properties

Does anyone know about investing in developing properties in Dubai? My late mother has left me a sum of money and I want to use it wisely.

I know next to nothing on this but remember reading in one of the quality Saturdays that extreme caution is required as the status of ownership can be quite different. At the very least you'd need a solicitor who was completely conversant with the law in Dubai and with how it might be affected by your being a citizen of a different country, (if that is the case). The solicitor should not be one retained or recommended by the developer/vendor of the property you're buying unless also independently recommended.

You'd also need to check how the purchase would affect your tax position both here and in Dubai.

I know that if I had the money I'd invest in Dubai. I have a folder at work with loads on Dubai property, but school fees have now put pay to any overseas investment.
Here's a link, talk to this guy. He may be able to help.
Bulgaria is probably more up and coming though.
