Shockwave player

Having some real problems with SW v.11. When opening an application it often says that it is downloading compatibility software from SW but it just hangs. Any ideas please. XP is my os. Thanks.

Both shockwave and flashplayer have been having some issues recenty, along with adobe reader...think the brain-drain has been hitting adobe pretty hard

I uninstalled and re-installed them to get them running properly...think SW took a couple of attempts 'till it came right, but got there in the end

Like Jack said ~ uninstall Shockwave

Clean the system using ccleaner
Download CCLEANER (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION' ~ make sure YAHOO TOOLBAR is unticked on installation)

Run the CLEANER scan (UNTICK 'cookies')
Then run the REGISTRY scan (Backup the registry when it asks)

Then reinstall

Thanks so far. When loading up a SW game I am getting this message.
The first one says, The application requires and xtra (flash movie)
that either does not exist or failed to initalize properly. Please make sure
the appropriate xtras are in the xtras file. The second messages says,
Shockwave movie has errors that caused playback problems.

Use the flash uninstaller (just in case)

then install IE AND FIREOX versions ~

Oh dear, sorry to be painish. Now getting...missing shockwave decompression xtra, followed by..... this application requires an Xtra (flash movie). Please make sure the appropiate Xtras are in the Xtra folder.

Finally it tells me it can`t pay the director movie.

Can you give me a link to whatever it is please?

I do know shockwave sometimes needs to update itself to run extra bits (addons to shockwave if you will)
