First time poster here so hello to all.
I work away from home quite a lot and so tend to pay my bills by phone. For the last two months when I have paid my credit card I have been told I can only pay the minimum payment. On arriving home last week I looked at my statement and found that even though I had paid the minimum, my balance outstanding had actually gone up (No charges, no other debits etc.) This can't be right - can it?
I will be contacting them for an explanation and also pointing out that they have spurred me into action and I will be claiming my charges back. I have been getting 'round to it' for some time now.
Regards Hocus

Hello again
A question that occured to me was this.
If I write a letter saying I want to reclaim charges, will that stop the 'six year clock ticking' i.e. Will I be able to reclaim from six years before the date of receipt of my letter?
I have read around the forum but so far I have not seen this mentioned.

i believe the six year will go back from the date you register your claim with all the charges you want to reclaim:mad: still waiting on halifax claim

Thanks Slim, my thoughts were that if I requested all my statements etc. that they (MBNA) could take upto 40 days to reply (and then a bit more) , my claim back point would be slipping all the time. But if I could stop this by writing a letter with my intentions this would 'freeze' the claim date.
On a lighter note - or not - I have been chasing up details for another credit card (Beneficial/HFC) so I could claim their charges back. Unfortunately I found out today that I paid the card off in Feb 2003.!!!!!! - in my head it was only a couple of years ago! C'est la vie.
