JSA or IB

A relative of mine who is 64 has cared for his severely disabled wife for over 10 years. He received carer's allowance. She claimed numerous benefits i.e. DLA/mobility etc. This was their income, other than a very, very small pension from his previous employement.
His wife has now died. I wondered if there was any experts on here who could help in advising what happens now that effectively 95% of his income has gone.
As I stated he is 64, in poor health himself i.e. extemely bad back from years of lifting his wife. At his age it is unlikely that he would be able to get a job and his back problem would make it extemely difficult. Will he be entitled to JSA or would he be able to claim IB due to the back problem.
He owns his own home, but will still have council tax, utilities, and normal living expenses.

Neither - he should claim Pension Credit. There is no requirememt for him to look for work etc....and maybe he should look at a DLA claim.
