Natwest/RBS Student Credit Card problems.

Hi, I posted my story on another website and thought I should get a second opinion.
As a student 5 years ago I received a credit card as part of my Natwest student current account. As I was unemployed I ran up about £1000 and could only make token payments which i did to a DC. Anyway, recently the DC decided to push for the full amount so I sent them a CCA request letter on 29th September 2008. I have never received a copy of any credit agreement either from a dc or the bank. The debt was passed back to the bank and I had funds as I'd just sold my car. They took £860 straight out of my account with no notice. I know about the ofset debt thing but they are in default of the credit agreement!!
I have tried to reclaim the charges but keep getting offered the difference between what they charged then and now with the last letter offering me 8% interest. Do I stand a good chance of getting this back? It's about £100 in charges plus the interest, I was going to claim through FSO but I would like to mention they took all my money out of my account, I am on benefits!
