Advice Please - Lloyds

Last year my 5 year old daughter was taken seriously ill with bacterial meningitis and almost lost her life. During this time, I had been having problems with Lloyd's taking charges from my account and at the time my daughter was admitted lloyds took charges from my account which resulted in me having no money in my account whatsoever. I also have 3 other young children including one who is mentally disabled.
Despite numerous attempts to explain my situation to the bank and the situation I was in, I was basically ignored or received their standard replies.
I have submitted a claim to them which has resulted in their standard reply and I have opened a new bank account (they closed mine, but didn't inform me!!!!)
How do people suggest I proceed? Now I have a new account I am not suffering the hardship that I was under lloyds, but the problems they caused me when my daughter was so seriously ill are frankly, unforgiveable.

Anyone?
I just want to know whether this is worth pursuing in the courts of OFT/FSA. At the time I was suffering financial hardship and the charges applied by lloyds at the time my daughter was fighting for her life emptied my account, which is a horrible situation to be in. Llloyds had already previously been aware of my financial situation as they had agreed reduced payment on my Mastercard0 -
I'm afraid that you will have to join the queue unfortunately. The only cases the banks are refunding at the moment is hardship claims, and even Lloyds are not refunding under this. They claim (which I have been told is correct) is that their only obligation under this ruling is to help customers who have overdrafts with arrangments for reduced payments.
I would suggest that you still get your claim in, as when they do lose their court case, you will get it back with interest!0 -
Thanks
I had a phone call from Lloyds today demanding payment for the outstanding overdraft or they will take me to court.
I was about to fill in the court forms anyway, but was wondering whether the court route or complaining to the FOS is the best option. Obviously, I'd like my money back, but I still very angry about the way they treated me.0 -
Hi i think you should go to the FOS and they will probly advise you from there, sorry i dont have much more advice but i just wanted to say keep going with the complaint towards the bank and good luck.x0

I would take your case to FOS, I dont think you will get any joy from the courts. Sadly there isnt a lot of comeback on the banks when they fail to treat people properly in times of crisis.... if the banks charges contributed to a lot of other things going unpaid etc then I would expect you have a complaint against them.LegalBeagles0
