Wife got mugged over the weekend and broke her Elbow in try to save her handbag.

There was lot of things in the handbag including Gift cards of Next and Mothercare.

Called Next and they are Stopping the card and issuing a new one.

Mothercare refused to do the same as they say Gift card is like cash and if its stolen then they will not replace it !

Does anybody has any idea if its true?

If it’s true then why some one will ever buy Mothercare gift card?

You seem more bothered by the gift cards then helping and supporting your wife. Stuff the gift cards your wifes health is more important. She could have been dead!

    What?!!!!
Where exactly has the OP indicated he cares more about the cards than his wife?

This is a MSE site, the guy is just asking if there is anything he can do to get the vouchers back rather than lose the value of them. If he had said, whilst my wife is lying in the street with a broken elbow rather than help her I thought I'd nip on here and see if I can get my money back I could understand your comment but otherwise if you can't say aomething useful don't say anything at all.

OP hope your wife gets better soon

I have read your thread twice but honestly didn't know what to say. Thank you Glamazon for stating exactly what I was thinking. Your poor wife....not only has she been mugged but I would certainly hope that she is okay and didn't suffer too many injuries. About the gift cards, they can be replaced but a life cannot.... I don't mean to be traumatic but your inital post made it clear that the gift cards were of utmost importance!

why am I a troll. Look at my previous posts, whats wrong with them? Out of curiosity how much were the mothercare vouchers worth. If my wife had been mugged I would never come on an open form about some poxy mothercare vouchers. I might ask for help and support dealing with how to cope with it. Stuff the vouchers. He should be saying "how can I support my wife after she has had this very serious incident" I would be grateful that my wife was not seriuosly injured.

So no I am no troll.

As this is a money forum first and foremost, I feel that there is nothing wrong with the OP question. I am sure he is supporting his wife in the way any loving husband would, but as he is a member of this site, I would assume money is an issue and as they have no insurance, they need to be able to get back whatever they can.

Whilst I do not think that you are a troll stiffnuts, I do think that the OP was here to ask a serious question, and if you do not wish to answer it then you should not post on his thread.

As for the OP, I have never had to contact mothercare regarding gift cards, but have had to claim back old gift vouchers from a few different companies when my purse was stolen years ago, and most of them were more helpful if you went into a local shop and asked the manager to phone their head office on your behalf.

    Hope your wife is OK:D

I may be wrong stuffnuts but it looks like your post was quoted instead of the Original Poster if you know what I mean. Hopefully it will be cleared up soon. And yes you are right....you are not a troll.

You have well and truely missed the point. This sub forum appears to be about support not money. The OP should be grateful that his wife was not badly hurt. She would have been traumatised as well as in pain. I would not give a stuff about a mothercare voucher which was what no more then £20 Im guessing. In fact I know how frighting and humiliating being mugged can be. Believe me a Mothercare voucher would not even enter my mind.

The OP final line is "If it’s true then why some one will ever buy Mothercare gift card?"

So OP how much was the mothercare voucher?

OP - how is your wife doing now? Is her elbow healing well?

Stiffnuts, I see how supportive you're being. Very caring and compassionate, imagine a guy asking for advice and you slate him for it. Lovely.
