WARNING - Wageday Advance - Don't touch them with a bargepole!!!

I made the mistake of taking a payday loan from these people and wish I never had. Not only did they take a double payment out of my bank account, they are trying to charge me for the 'cancelled' direct debit of the first payment!!

Let me explain, I changed my bank details and informed them of the new details. They made the mistake of using my old bank details for the DD, which they then corrected and the money came out of my account as agreed. Then, a few days later, they took the same amount off my debit card, meaning I'd paid DOUBLE!!! They have also taken a £36 charge off my debit card for 'cancelling' my first DD.

I now have a problem whereby this has left me overdrawn and has resulted in a DD for another service being returned. I'm going to have bank charges too. I am NOT happy at all  . I am waiting to get the first DD back from my bank via an indemnity claim but this will take a while. After phoning Wageday, they have said that they will return my £36 but it will take about 3-5 working days to show on my account. This is still not good enough in my eyes. I sent a complaint email to them yesterday informing them of the situation and asking that they pay my bank charges as this was their error.

Don't go near them!!!!

A direct debit indemnity claim should refund the money into your bank virtually immediately.
  • I was told yesterday that it could take up to 24 hours. And today, it still isn't in. I am raging!!!
