Thanks Moonchild - Phoenix Holidays - see link below:

    http://www.phoenixholidays.co.uk/FAQ.aspx#question9

It's one of the Highland Cruises I have booked, with the ship MV Lord of the Glens. This ship seems to be linked to and sold by lots of other different travel companies as well so not a small operator, and some of the alternative operators are ABTA protected. Just not Phoenix.

Phoenix Holidays 'rose from the ashes' of Travelscope when it went under. I believe some of the managers who worked there started it up.

Just been having a read. Apparently Phoenix were recently refused ABTA & ATOL

I knew about the Travelscope connection, but not the other difficulties. Hmmm. I've already paid a deposit, so I don't want to cancel.

Can anyone recommend a travel insurance that includes cover if the company goes to the wall?

I used Direct Travel insurance for my comming holiday - if you take out their platinum rate policy the holiday is extra covered for scheduled airline failure. I paid £31 for a 2wk trip in europe for 2 adults. All done on the web and going through Quidco.

    Hope it helps somesone.....Julie.
If winter comes, can spring be far behind?
    Spring begins on 21st March.
