I sent off a letter to HSBC last Tues (17th Feb) to reclaim PPI. How long does it usually take for them to send me a letter to inform me that the have logged my complaint and an offer/ rejection letter after that? If I'm offered money, how long will it take b4 i can receive the money?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Hi we wrote to Hsbc on 07/01/09 got a letter a week later saying looking into it hopefully will be 4 weeks recieved another letter 04/02/09 saying sorry still looking into it we phoned them on 24/02/09 they said they had till the 03/04/09 to reply to us and they would try to push us up the list I will give them till next thursday and call if no letter has been recieved at this point depending on the outcome i will decide what to do next
hope this helps but it seems they have quite afew to deal with so you just need to keep pushing0 -
Thanks 'tired mum'. Hope you'll hear from the bank soon about the outcome. I'm just not very confident they'll give me any reply - I wrote two letters since Nov asking for my loan document copies but no reply at all until I found them myself at home and decided to write to to to reclaim.
So where do you call/ email to speak to somebody? I wasted two months in nov & dec waiting for the document copies so I really don't want to wait longer than I should now that I've filed a complaint.
I also emailed a copy of my letter to the service quality department found on the HSBC website but again, I haven't got any replies yet....
I never seems to have much luck in anything....
Thanks.0 -

Hi there
They have 8 full weeks to respond, if they have not then your still entitled to take this to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS).
If they offer you a refund, when you sign, you can call it approx 28 days, call it a month which would be reasonable, after they have received signed confirmation from you.
Any problem from there, and you have not sent you your refund, you could write to them to tell them if they do not refund within 14 days of this request, you will consider taking further action, this can help, but obviously a month is about fair to give them after they have received your signed offer.
Good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
