Lenny, i know how you must feel. I have a cat and she is 19 yo, 20 in Aug. She is blind and has been on beta blockers and bp tablets for a couple of years. i have had her since she was a tiny kitten which fitted in the palm of my hand. She is my family (i am single). I have been gearing my self up for when it is her time to go (cos i know i'm gonna be in bits).
You love your Buster and have cared for him and given him a happy life. though is it the worst decision a pet owner has to make, you are showing how much you love him by making it, and not letting him suffer.
massive :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: to you and your family

I will be thinking of you tomorrow my friend xxBut these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -
of course you are doing the right thing Len, you know that in your heart. If it were you would you want to be in pain, !!!!ing yourself all the time? I think I would rather be at restI'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

i still have my Spice's ashes, as i only live in a flat. They are in a nice wooden box with his name on a small plaque.
There are pet cemetries where the ashes can be scattered on the garden and you can have a plaque with his name and age on it. And you can visit if you wish.
Or you could plant a rose bush in the garden and scatter the ashes there.
Perhaps i am just weird
but i don't think it strange to keep the ashes.
The crematorium usually does a weekly collection from vet surgeries (i used to work in one) so you may have a few days to decide, check with your vet.Cats don't have owners - they have staff!!

I dont think its weird. Someone suggested tonight that I get a plant and scatter his ashes in it because we move around a lot, i think thats what we are gonna do so we can still take care of himscaredy_cat wrote: »i still have my Spice's ashes, as i only live in a flat. Oh Lenny I am so sorry.
You are all going to think I am bonkers now but I used have pet rats, obviously no where near as long living as Cats or Dogs but I did love them and they were excellent pets, I miss them.
I had to have (over the five years I had them) many of them put to sleep. I was always there at the end. It not nice, in fact that is an understatement. but I always knew I ending their suffering and helping them not be in pain any more.
It did cost about 80 to have their ashes returned to me in little wooden boxes.
I am so sorry Len xxxxxNevertheless she persisted.0 -
Awww Lenny will be thinking of you tomorrow.

Oh god its gonna be awful tomorrow. But tonight we are gonna stay up and watch tvAwww Lenny will be thinking of you tomorrow.
