Thursday 26/2/09 What small dfw things have you done today???

:DWhen we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free;)

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D

Today i will:
  • check online banking -
  • update spreadsheets
  • move some money to savings
  • make a loaf in breadmaker
  • storecupboard lunch and tea
  • laundry hokey cokey for OH
  • ironing for me
  • reduce, reuse,recycle one thing
  • swim and jacuzzi to use gym membership
  • aim for no spend day
  • Clean one room so no work to do at weekend
  • sparkle a lot HSstars.gif - purple cow socks today
Good morning lovely dfw'sjumping0044.gif,no plans at all for today so will just see what the day brings:rolleyes: . Hope you all have good day at work or home. Hugs to all the poorly people and little pip - and anyone feeling down xxx

Working at home today :j , but I have LOTS of work to do! But no petrol use, and no sitting in a city centre traffic jam for ages in my attempt to get there

    So far I have:
Had a lie in till 7.30 ish to make up for exhausting day and mega-early start yesterday.
    Seen to animals

Morning All :hello: Thanks SM :A

white socks today  All I could find as I've been avoiding the washing/ironing/sorting since I got back :o

    So today I have/will:
    • post on here - I find this thread SO helpful, keeps me focused AND gives me inspiration, so just wanted to acknowledge that today.
    • been to the gym already :D to use my membership and used their hot water & toiletries too. :D
    • made banana bread in th BM, using manky bananas, & that's been the perfect post work out brekkie :D
    • brought in lunch
    • supper from the freezer......don't know what yet :o
    • must menu plan, with one eye on the contents of the freezer, one eye on my new diet and one eye on the fact that the lodger pays good money so shouldn't be offered toast as a meal......
    • will do some laundry tonight at 30 and airer dried.
    • part pay credit card bill, in case OH's money doesn't arrive in time. Can't pay it ALL off until it does, but don't want to risk a fee for late payment.
    • Bought my ticket to Leeds using the special offer in the weekly e-mail. Sadly I'll have a bus ride mid-journey, but at £33 return it's cheaper & less hassle than driving :money: I'm going to see Lenny Henry as Othello with DD :j
I've written all that down, all is positive, but I still feel a little blue today :o
    Ho hum.

    Morning all

I feel completely devoid of any energy or passion for anything which I am sure will come across in my posts so do excuse me, I'm 41 weeks and 2 days and feeling massively/hugely/gigantically pregnant (select completely over the top adjective as required:rolleyes:) and waiting for baby to make his arrival *raises voice pointedly* "as soon as possible baby" :D

So today if I manage to:
    • check online banking
    • make council tax outstanding payment for March online
I shall be more than happy at having achieved something for today!

*apologises to no one in particular for sounding like a right plank*

White socks have secret stripes you just can't see them - so sparkle away!!

Miss P spiders are great - just think of them as 8 legged guard beasts.

Nits - lol DD use to say she was a Nit hotel - took us forever to get rid of them DS much easier though. We used olive oil as well - smothers them and makes them sluggish so they cant roam around avoiding you. x

  • Hi, can I join in? I'm a wee newbie & you all sound so organised! I don't know a lot about some of the things yous have mentioned but hopefully one day I will!! Today I will:
    • Go to bank and close down savings account,
    • Reduce my overdraft to £1650 with the savings money,
    • Take some clothes back that I bought a few days ago that I know I can live without,
    • Have lunch before I leave the house and take dinner to work so I don't need to buy anything,
    • Try to put at least 2 things on Ebay (I'm new to that as well and it takes me ages to work it all out)
    • Have a NSD!!!
Hope everyone's day goes to plan.
