Cleaning Job

I clean someone's house for them on Fridays, its for three hours and I basically clean everything she asks me too and do extra too when she asks me.....
I really want to quit this job because I receive housing benefit and whatever I earn from this job is taken off that so technically I'm working three hours for six pounds. Plus I'm doing a degree and I'm a single mother of one so I am finding it hard to fit the studying in, doing my own housework and looking after my child.
The problem is I don't know how to tell the lady I want to quit because I don't want to let her down, I was going to tell her recently but she had a baby last week by C-section and it's obvious atm she needs the help. So I was wondering what I should do?
Should I keep the job going for now and quit when she looks to be a bit more on her feet or should I just quit now and let her down? I could give her several numbers for other cleaners in the area but I don't know if they are any good or reliable, she sacked her last cleaner because she was unreliable.
If I do quit do I do it by letter or face to face?

I think you should tell her - be honest and say you're finding it tough what with studying and looking after your own child. It will be better for you in the long run and you have to think about yourself.
Maybe you could give her a month's notice so that she's not left without someone straight away?0 -
Agree with Lilith 1980. Its unlikely that the lady you clean for is aware of your financial position as many would take this as a cash in hand payment - clearly you are not in this category.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

If she's been a good employer I'd give it a couple of months until she's feeling a bit better. After all, when you're on benefits, £6 is worth having!0
