Last week we used 19 imperial units (so about 2.7 a day) which works out at about 85kwh a day. The week before, it was 31units in a week. Hoping to be reducing steadily now.

I have a 20 year old boiler (back burner) - not a modern efficient one. I use it heating (ch and water) plus cooking hob. I consider I am a highish gas user and am currently using an average 8.5 units a day. During the cold spell earlier this month it was around 13. It tends to be on all day as someone is at home most of the time. During the summer is around 1.5 to 2.

If you have a modern efficient combi then your usage seems high to me.
  • My modern combi (less than a year old) currently uses between 7 - 10 units a week (ft3) which is 217kWh - 310kWh. I would say im quite tight with the heating though ;) When it does get turned on its left at 17c, 2x10 minutes showers a day, heating water for washing hands / cleaning dishes and everything else is electric :)

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
About 5.5 metric units a day currently.
  • Over the past two weeks we have used 48 units, so 3.43 units per day.

We use gas for central heating and hot water only. It is a ten year old combi boiler.

The temperature in the lounge and kitchen etc never goes below 23 degrees C.
