How do i tell my gas meter is metric or imperial

How can i tell on my gas meter that it is metric or imperial
What should it say on my bill
I have been having a problem with British Gas Well over 1 year and now owe them £2000
Had a meter check and nothing wrong so they have installed a new meter

Thanks

If the meter has 'feet' or 'ft3' written on it is is imperial. If it has 'metres' or 'm3' then it is metric.

If it is an imperial meter, on your bill your kWhs should be about 32 times your units. If it is a metric meter, your kWhs will be about 11 times your units.
