Primus Calling Features

Finally got my primus activated on Monday - took over 1 month to become active after signing up!!

I was told and signed up based on the sales pitch about thier call divert feature - nothing has been sent to tell me how this is done, so I have contacted Primus CS who tell me that when I want call divert I have to call thier customer services to change the divert number which takes 2 days not so good when I only want to divert to my mobile while I'm out!! and then phone them when I want to take off... Is the only way I can do this although a similar thing to BT Call diver was mentioned on the sale pitch ie *21* number etc - CS didn't really know about this feature, so does anyone know how this is done on primus do do it but I'm lost to the method!

Thanks

When you say, "primus activated on Monday", do you mean your calls are now with them and your line rental is still with BT?
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

Call divert is still a BT function then (your incoming calls arrive on BT). BT currently charges £1.75/month (going up to £2.50/month on 1-4-09 IIRC) for the Calling Feature - it uses the *21*divert_to_number# method. The diverted part of the call will go out on Primus at whatever they charge for calling your mobile.

The point is Primus cannot offer such a service if your line rental is still with BT. Only the line provider handling the incoming calls can offer a diversion facility for those calls.
