Council want 4 weeks notice rent

  • The tenancy for her old property would have stated she would have to give 4 weeks written notice if she wishes to end the tenancy. This is standard wording on most Council & HA tenancies and they are entitled to ask for the full notice period to be honoured.

She might be entitled to a HB overlap but there is strict eligibility criteria for this and from what you say, I don't think she is, but I'm not a HB expert so she needs to see their advice.

And whilst she is paying rent is she not entitled to keep the keys?
