You must admit that the media in 2008/9 is a completely different beast to the one in the early nineties? I don't think we should underestimate the effect it has on people's perceptions of what is going on.
We got the internet in 1993 and we were early adopters in the UK.
A 28.8kps modem and compuserv bbs/usenet subjects on everything and anything other than UK house prices.
This site in itself is one of the top 10 UK social websites. BBC News 24 on Freeview. Loads of other 24 hour news channels. People are generally more informed.0 -

I dont think it'll be such a short while but hopefully the permanent damage is contained more or less and lessons are learnt as much as they ever can be0
