    We got the internet in 1993 and we were early adopters in the UK.

    A 28.8kps modem and compuserv bbs/usenet subjects on everything and anything other than UK house prices.

    This site in itself is one of the top 10 UK social websites. BBC News 24 on Freeview. Loads of other 24 hour news channels. People are generally more informed.

    So my feeling is that it isn't different this time. That the economic cycle will continue to play on, and in a hopefully short while in terms of our lives, plans, hopes, etc. we will back to business as usual.

    I dont think it'll be such a short while but hopefully the permanent damage is contained more or less and lessons are learnt as much as they ever can be
