Help - Places to buy meat
Comments
-
I lived in Cirencester for a couple of years - moved away in May last year. In general, I found the farm shops quite pricey, but very good quality.
To the south of Ciren there's Butts farm, which was/is one of Rick Stein's food heroes, an Organic farm shop and a really good shop at Chedworth. Also of note is the Chesterton Farm shop who specialise in rare breeds.
I'm not sure whether they can/do supply in bulk, but I'm of the opinion that if you don't ask you don't get!

Over Farm is on the outskirts of Gloucester and they sell really nice stuff.0

http://www.riverford.co.uk/ have a number of local box schemes. I have been getting veg boxes for a few years and they have recently started doing organic meat boxes. I haven't tried the meat yet as I don't have enough room in my freezer and I need to be very organised.0

I've found the butcher in Stonehouse is good quality, (opposite the carpark).
Their burgers & sausages were really fantastic when I ran a tea and butty bar at our local water depot during the water crisis (one Scout Leader emptied her parents freezer)It matters not if you try and fail, and fail and try again; But it matters much if you try and fail, and fail to try again.
