My self-employed mum would like to make a bit of extra cash from her delicious fudge/tablet recipe. Everyone who tastes it loves it.
We're thinking she could sell it at farmers markets and fairs but what sort govt hoops does she have to jump through first?
I imagine a hygiene certificate is the first step? She's in Scotland.
Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Have a look at this site (replaced the Womens Institute Markets) http://www.country-markets.co.uk/
Plenty of good basic advice on there as an introduction to get her started on researching it as a business idea. Also a good way to start selling without committing herself too deeply and too early.0 -
