House Viewing

We had a couple viewing our house yesterday. It's so difficult to tell how it went and i am so unpatient!

I was just wondering if anyone knew any give away signs that viewers like a house?

None really, as some people are naturally shy and others will try and hide any emotion to avoid paying more.

I wouldn't get overly excited at one viewer.

    Thanks!

We have had other viewers but this couple seemed very interested when they phoned and I was confident that they would like it.

They were pretty thorough (looking inside cupbaords etc) and they were talking about arranging a survey.

We are selling privately so we can't get the agent to call them for feedback. I guess its just a waiting game.

I would give them another day (so 48 hours), then call them back anyway...

As a seller (albeit a private seller), you still need feedback from the viewing... If they were serious, I would expect an offer or a request for a second viewing within 48 hours (at the most). If they haven't contacted you within 48 hours, then it seems reasonable to contact them "for feedback". Even if it isn't what you want to hear (although I hope that they do offer :) ), constructive feedback is VERY useful...

    Good luck :)

    Part of the Furniture
It really is hard to tell what viewers think...I had one girl telling me the house was perfect, exactly what she was looking for and she was off to the EA that very moment to sort out a mortgage.
The EA rang the next day and said she felt it needed too much work??

The couple who finally bought our house came as a surprise as I was at work the first time they viewed the house and my partner wrote them off as potential buyers saying "they didn't seem that interested"

It's pointless trying to second guess.
  • sorry to go slightly off subject and if i am stating the obvious but make sure you know all the basics about your house.

we went to view a house and the vendor didnt know what type of boiler they had (i.e. combi), when the house was built etc, if all the windows were double-glazed etc.

it kind of put us of the house!

Second viewings can be a clue the buyer is interested. But as mentioned its very difficult to tell for certain.
