Take care when buying replacement gas cylinders for sodastreams - they may be empties that have been put back into stock by mistake. I took my empty cylinder back to Tesco last week and picked up a replacement from the shelf (it's 60% cheaper to buy refills) but when I got home it turned out to be another empty one. I thought I'd have no recourse as it would be hard to prove I'd bought an empty one, but I checked the shelf today and found about 20 empties mixed in with the full cylinders. CS said I could exchange my empty one as it was obvious there had been an error.
Just check that the cylinders you buy have an intact plastic seal over the valve.

Hi, I'm trying to find the cheapest place to get a refill of the new 60l cylinder. I've looked at Lakeland and while the refill in 6.99 the postage is 4.95, so..... Any ideas anybody? Thanks.0

I'm hoping that once the 35l cylinders are phased out, Tesco will start taking on the 60l ones. Until then, I'm really not sure where to get 60l refills cheapest.0

People still use Sodastream? One of the great things about moving out is that I don't have my Mam forcing them down my neck or into my bag anymore! Male. Male.

I'm not the only one in this household, so need to buy things the other half will drink too, and he won't drink white label- so a bit stuck there. At least if I gas up some water I can add cheap diluting juice to it, which ends up cheaper than me downing 2litre bottles of Sprite etc which is what he buys for himself. Also, as I can only carbonate a litre at a time, I lose less to flatness. (Flat juice just making me sick at the moment- no idea what's going on.)Sub 20p/2 litres in most supermarkets...how does that compare?
LemonGrove- I agree totally! Definitely better than coal.. plus I'm definitely getting enough fluids! 0 0

DH uses our sodastream to turn tap water into fizzy water (he drinks it without the added flavourings) - he swears it tastes exactly like bottled sparkling water. I don't know if it's any cheaper than bottled fizzy water, but it's much easier to carry home, lasts ages and doesn't take up so much room in the cupboard.0
