Weekend away in March

I'm looking to book a weekend away for my fiance's birthday.
Friday 20th March for two nights.
Does anyone have any suggestions? UK or abroad?
UK - anywhere within a few hours of Rochdale in Lancashire.
We've been Keswick, York, Edinburgh and Windermere.
Abroad - anyone within a couple of hours of Manchester or Liverpool airport.
Looking not to spend too much, as we usually stay in b&bs anyway, I just don't have any ideas of where to go

Try Nice. Good availability of flight from both airports, loads to do (Monte Carlo, Cannes, the beach at Juan Les Pins etc). Loads of hotels to choose from and should be very pleasant weather at the end of March.
Off to Juan Les Pins myself from Liverpool on the 13th March for a long weekend!0 -
Not sure if you want peace and quiet or the opposite?
Anyway, how about Chester? Not too far to go and a lovely place..
Liverpool is good for a few days, great shopping
nightlife and plenty of cultural things to see
For something a bit quieter, the Yorkshire Dales are stunning0 -
De Vere have some deals at the mo. 2 nights B&B with dinner on first night for £150-200 per room for the stay. All De Vere hotels in the offer are 4/5 star. Carden Park near Chester, Oulton Hall near Leeds or Slaley Hall in Nortumberland are all worth a visit.0
