  • Thanks for them previous 2 posts they were very helpful.
Sorry to be a pain but I now have another question.
I rang the coutrts up to make an appointment to see someone and hand all my paperwork in the so i was given Friday the 20th of March but i have a loan payment to my bank due on the 1st of March.
Now my payment were £400 a month and after speaking to my bank about my financial difficulties they generously halfed the payments to £200 a month(even though i told them I was only getting £240 a month jobseekers allowance to which the bloke on the other end of the phone said "well the rest of the country can get a job why can't you") for 3 months then after that I'd need to pay £600 pound for the 3 months after that so the question is seen as i've made this agreemnt with my bank should I try and pay it seeing as i won't really be getting my bankruptcy ball rolling till the 20th of March ?.
Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

You should stop all payments to non-priority creditors as soon as you know that you are going to petition for bankruptcy - including the Bank.
Otherwise it could be seen, by the OR, that you were treating the Bank as a 'preferential creditor'. In extreme cases the OR has the power to 'reverse' such payments.

And, judging by the arrogant manner of the 'bloke on the other end of the phone' they deserve no better.
