Buying a house, asbestos in the attic?

Morning,

A house i'm looking at has a couple of these strewn about the attic

Can anyone in the building trade identify it, could it be asbestos lagging from the old hot water tank?

No it is Lath and plaster plaster

The red lines is where the laths were and the blue are where the plaster has been pushed through holding the plaster to the laths.

Some plaster can conatin asbestos but I would just put a mask on and clear up.

Not a deal breaker on a house purchase in my opinion.

Asbestos is not that big a deal as long as you don't break it up but I'd wear a mask regardless.

If you buy the property get an asbestos specialist in to check what the material is to be on the safe side.

Ring some companies that deal with asbestos and ask how much for them to remove it.
