IVA's for the self employed

My husband and I have in the past be stupid - borrowed to pay bills!! Never again, credit cards constantly increasing limits. The only doubt we have is he is self employed and I am unable to work. We have 2 bank accounts with HSBC 1 private and 1 business and its only the private that we will have to put in the IVA can they make us then pay back business loan and close the account (the loan we have if we allow to run full term we get back half the interest at the end). He has just turned 60 and need these debts out the way and our pension pot is non existent, like everyone else, unless on a final salary i.e. teacher, police etc. We just can't see another way forward but he needs to keep working although he can't do what he could 10 years ago due to ill health himself, and there just isn't away of getting working tax credit etc as he earns different amounts each week/month. Has anyone any experience with IVA and the self employed? If so please can you help we are desperate.!!
