To be honest, it's only since I've worked in school, that I've realised how much we can do at home. Getting them to do it is a different matter

Grrrr whhere do I start

They are basically great kids, and neither are particularly smart, but with a bit of work/revision they could be a lot better. DS is approaching his SATS, and just wont do anything to improve his potential marks. DD is year 8, and still doesnt know her times tables, so her maths is suffering. Just a few minutes work each night could make a huge difference, but neither will do it.

Anyhoo, I just banned telly, Xbox, Wii etc until they both start to work at these things regularly. I have a sore throat now because they wound me up so much. Me is a bad mother :o

Hmm its a toughie, Sats stuff gets drummed in to them so much and year 8 is pretty much a "dead year" for the kids I mean nothing happens!

But it doesn't make it any less important. ugh. I swear some days there is not an easy way to get kids to work without yelling at them and in my case become a crazy sarcastic !!!!! from hell.
    Nevertheless she persisted.
