Welcome Finance PPI Resign agreement at showroom

Hi, I took out a car loan with Welcome car finance and was sold PPI, I have asked them to cancel this as I did not need it, I did this within 14days. I have been phoned by them and told that I have to travel to my nearest showroom over 100 miles away to sign another credit agreement. They have said that if I want to cancel the PPI that is the only way that I can do it. Can they do this, need some advice. Appologies if this has been covered but cannot find anything in any threads about this particular problem.

Only just to ask as well, do you have any paperwork on this at all, maybe the terms/conds?

It does seem very very unreasonable for them to request this. I would send a letter / e-mail stating you require the agreement be sent to you special delivery, include a cheque for the amount of postage ( i know the principle is wrong here, but it does not give them an out)

A privider needs to senure the are treating the customer fairly and one of these requirements is not to make cancelling a financial product troublesome or place obstacles in the way of the consumer.

If this does not work i would refer it to the head office of the car showroom and finacnier. keep copies of all letters and let me know ho you get on.
