My car received a parking ticket at the local Railway station car park. The driver parked around 8pm and paid for what he/she thought was 24 hr Parking. However the ticket ran out at midnight and he/she received a parking fine. There is a space on this ticket for the attendant to fill in their name or at least initial it. As this has not been done, could he/she claim that that the ticket is incorrectly filled in and is therefore invalid? The company are APCOA.
Also, as I am the registered owner and keeper of the vehicle, should I wait for them to send a demand and then prove that I was not the driver. (Which, fortunately I can!).

Does the ticket say anything about railway byelaws? I would suggest that it would be useful to scan/photo the ticket, both sides, and see the stickies how to put it on your post. Its likely that you can just ignore as normal but for a rail carpark its best to be safe and let Neil and Sarah look at it. Don't forget to remove car reg and ticket number etc first.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

peter_the_piper, many thanks again for your advice.
Having done a little more reading on this website forum I am uploading the ticket.
The fact that I wasn't the driver and can prove that I was approx 250 miles away at the time, should be sufficient to escape the over priced parking fine. But I would still be interested to know whether the fact that it was never initialled or signed was grounds for not paying?
Also, the driver accidently overpaid 80p for the time he/she was allowed to park there. Should I follow that up? - perhaps not!!

I am pretty sure its ok to just ignore them as there is no mention of any rail bylaws. Hopefully Neil or Sarah etc will confirm this.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Private parking company, no mention of railway byelaws. Read the stickies, then file away in a drawer and ignore.0

Peter_the_piper and sarah - many thanks for your help and I shall be ignoring this ticket.
Just one thing - as I explained to p_the_p in a private correspondence, I am some what of an IT dinosaur and pretty ignorant of forum etiquette and language. So would I be right in thinking "stickies" are the replies to ones first posting?0 -
Have now discovered what and where the stickies are!!
I just love it when a plan comes together!
Many thanks again.0
