I recently purchased a house and I now have to get a solicitor. Does anyone know any decent solicitors that are good and good value for money?

Hi,
I would advise you to NOT, Under any Circumstance use Noel Wilson in Glengormley.

I used Brangam Bagnall & Co as well. They were the cheapest quote we found but I won't be using them again. They got our completion date wrong by 2 weeks, sent us a cheque for nearly £12k that was supposed to go the the solicitors of the building Company we bought the house off and they forgot to register us with the NHBC since it was a new build. We are still getting documents through the post 10 months later that they forgot to get us to sign. They also offer little help when needing a solicitor to help with disputes with the builder etc.
I would go with Edward Walker in Glengormley if buying/selling again. Slightly more expensve than Brangam Bagnall & Co but comes highly recommended by ten different house buyers in our development. He is the complete opposite to Brangam Bagnall & Co. Helpful, organised, friendly, professional - the list goes on!0 -
Having just recently purchased a house we used Small & markin of Antrim. I found the experience from start to end very easy. Their professinal fees where £525 + Vat for purchasing only.

We used Keenan Sols, Knockbreda Road, Belfast. Had no problems with them. (2-3 years ago)0

I would recommend a man called Michael Green who works at a company called Maffey & Brentall in Watford. He may not be the cheapest, he certainly isn't the most expensive but I know for sure that you will have no problems with anything to do with your conveyancing. He is as sharp as they come and very pleasant to boot. I have used him on 4 moves and would recommend anyone to him.0

david smyth
diamond & heron in belfast
fixed price at the start and fixed a schedule for completion and kept us fully informed the whole way through
service was better than ever received from a solicitor before
would definitely use him again0 -
the cheapest i found was campbell & caher - either belfast or lisburn - i've used both offices - last time Peter Prenter from the Belfast office - give them a call their rates are really reasonable.DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY
