Help! Massive Charges from High Court Enforcement Officer!

Bit of a long story this one, but I need some advice as I feel I have been totally ripped off.

On January 26th I received a letter through my door from a company called Sherforce, it stated that I owed money to a company called Arrow Global which totaled £977.00 plus charges which took it to just over £1700 it stated that I needed to either e-mail Sherforce with an offer to pay or contact the High Court Enforcement Officer Direct. I emailed the Company explaining that I did not have a clue what the debt was for and could they please give me further details, this was on Jan 27th, I received no reply. On January 28th I sent another Email requesting the same information. By Jan 30th I had still not received any response so I contacted the Enforcement Officer directly. He was helpful, although he admitted to not having my case notes on him and said that the debt would be for Orange mobile, I then explained that this was a phone i got for my ex husband, and I presumed that he had paid off, It appears not, and I told him that I understood that as the debt was in my name I would have to pay it. He recommended that I wrote in making an offer of maybe £150 whilst it was sorted out and then made regular repayments on the debt. He told me he would inform his office who would then speak to Arrow Global. I wrote the letter and posted it to Sherforce he told me it would take about a week to receive a response but not to worry. At no point did they respond to my initial e-mails.
The next thing I know was on February 4th when my neighbour phoned me at work to inform me that there were two men with a clipboard looking at my car, and that they had been there for about half an hour, i asked her to take the phone to them.
It was the High Court Enforcement Officer that I had spoken to on the previous Friday, who told me that they had come to seize my car unless an immediate payment of £2600 was paid. I was totally shocked, considering he had told me on the phone not to worry and to write in, when I said this to him he denied ever having a telephone conversation with me. I then left work to head home and try to sort the situation out. When I got home I showed him the telephone call logged on my mobile to him on the previous friday, he then said well i have no record of that conversation, he then checked his phone and admitted that yes there was a telephone call that lasted over 10 minutes but that he did not remember the content of that call. I asked him why he was here when I had written in making an offer as he had suggested, he said because you didnt write it, i then offered to show the letter to him and copies of both of the emails that had been sent to which he said i am not interested you either pay £2600 or we take your car. I then offered proof that although the car was in my name my father had bought it with a loan and I made repayments monthly to him, but he told me if i let him in my house he would take goods from there instead!
In the end my father agreed to make the £2600 payment on the credit card just to stop them hasselling me, and told them we would be taking further action, we were then told the fee had increased to £2873 as they had to cancel a recovery truck!
We made the payment but made it clear it was under protest at their fees, and the fact that the enforcement officer had failed to pass on the telephone conversation details to Arrow Global or Sherforce.
I have since made an official complaint and requested a breakdown of their fees, which they refused to give me on the day, we received no paperwork whatsover on that day!
I have received a reply to my complaint, which does not mention any of the points I complained about but does include a breakdown of charges which means nothing to me whatsover but it does not mention on it the additional cost of the recovery truck.

I feel this case should not have got to this level and only did so as the enforcement officer failed to carry out his duties correctly, I have since spoken to the solicitors who were dealing with the case for arrow global and they have confirmed they would have accepted my offer.
So where do I go from here, I need to respond to Sherforce, but not really sure what to say....they need to sort out their member of staff who clearly did not follow the guidelines and I feel need to refund some of their charges?

I was totally unaware of this until then, apparantly it went through court on a bulk system, and its possible that I did not receive paperwork, I cant believe that something like that isnt sent out by recorded delivery

if you were unaware, you may have been able to have had this overturned.

The Sherforce website www.sherforce.net contains information on how to complain

I would just send a letter of complaint to their 'Complaints Department' at their address and set out exactly what happened as above.

Send it by recorded delivery and if you don't get a reply within 14 days, write the High Court Enforcement Officer's Association (see www.hceoa.org.uk)

Don't let them get away with this

I have now written 2 letters of complaint!!! They only answered the first one after i constantly chased them, and basically just sent me a letter full of totally unimportant information, and did not answer any of my complaint questions, they also stated that they would be interviewing the enforcement office and they would send me details of that, to date i still have not received this.
I sent a second complaint letter on 3rd march, and after constant phonecalls i got through to the complaints manager today who said ah yes i have answered your letter i will send you a copy by email in 10 mins, 3 hours later i received an email with an attachment and word document dated today....which yet again does not answer my questions, nor my complaint about the enforcement office, they are now offering a breakdown of charges though. He has admitted that they havent dealt with my correspondance very well but blames that on an employee thats left.

Not sure where to go with this one now, as I feel if i complain again he will yet again shirk responsibility on answering my complaints
