2008 Ford Focus - How do I get to the fusebox?

Hello all,

I have blown the fuse for the 12v power supply and I need to replace it in order to use TomTom etc.

I understand that there are two "fuseboxes" on modern Fouses, one under the bonnet and another behind (?) the glove compartment. It is this one that I believe houses the fuse I need to change.

Does anyone have any experience getting to this easily? The car is an 08 Focus 1.6 TDCi but was not supplied with any of the manuals.....

Thanks in advance.

  • if its like the older focus then yes it will be behind the glove compartment.
i think you should empty the glove compartment and get a torch and look at how it drops down, in the older focus you just squeeze the sides in if i remember correctly.
the fuse for the 12v supply will be in this fuse box.

    Thanks Goldspanners.

Do you or anybody else have any idea which f$%king fuse it is though? :rotfl:

I had read that it was one of the blue (10 or 15amp?) ones so I checked all of these and none had blown.

Managed to disconnect the radio though, so I will need a code for that from one of the other threads on this forum.....

    Lol.

blue is 15A. i think the power supply inside the car is 10A. it says 10A on the plug cover on mine.
the 10A fuses are red in colour.
sorry i dont know its location in the fuse box im afraid.
best to remove them to test them if testing with a multi meter. but usually you can see if its blown through the plastic casing.

    Good point. Mine too.

If I had as much common sense as you I wouldn't have mucked about with the 15a fuses and had to drive back from Somerset with no radio.

Nope, sorry. Never got to it.

It was rented from 1car1 who went bust and collected it with the radio still locked and the cigar lighter not working.

Never heard any more about it.
