I am happy enough with the service I get from eon except in one area.
Can eon please work on keeping the online accounts up-to-date to help customers stay in credit.
With my previous company a new balance was available to view a few days after readings were submitted giving the chance to make an additional payment if required to keep the account in the black and not build up a debt.
I enter my readings on the 1st of each month to try to keep on top of my balance. With eon I can view how much I have paid to you but this doesn't help me with how this compares to the fuel I have used. I made an agreement by phone that a certain amount would be paid by DD and I would top up the balance each month when the money is available giving me flexibility in managing my account. With your billing system I don't know how much I need to top up each month to stay in credit.
I do not want to change company but I am prepared to go back to my previous supplier and pay more just for the peace of mind of knowing that I am not in fuel debt.

I've had an eon account and they let you enter meter readings online and then did nothing with them. Scottish Power much better with this - enter meter readings and next day there a bill.0

Even more useful with Scottish Power is the way you can enter a reading, be given an updated estimate, then cancel the reading and not feed it through.0

Both elec & gas are with BG for me; guy came round to read both meters in early December and I only got a gas bill - I mistakenly thought this was down to me going on fixed price 2011 and the bill was for both gas and elec. Boy did I get a shock today with a £660 electric bill appeaing online and a gas bill due again in March. I rang them and they said meter reader musn't have sent in my electric meter reading back in Dec.... Pants!0

Hi
This is a really good suggestion and I agree it would be very useful to have this facility online. At the moment it is not available.
This is something I will pass to the people who develop our website. Many thanks for this excellent feedback.
To find out your ongoing balance at the beginning of each month please contact us with a meter reading. We will be more than happy to tell you what it is and even produce a bill if you would like.
I know this is not exactly what you want but hopefully it will help until our website development team can look at an online facility.

Hi E.ON Malc.
Thanks for the reply. I am sure Eon would agree that to have this facility would help both the customer and the company to ensure that debt does not accumulate, especially following a cold winter like this one has been.
I certainly will give customer services a call and ask for a current total as I would like to start the new financial year with a zero balance.
To be able to check an 'online account' online seems to me to be the whole point of the account in the first place. Your competitors have done it so I am sure the Eon website bods can come up with something too.
Thanks again.0
