Lloyds TSB not quite getting it....

Hi all, just a little problem I'm having with Lloyds TSB at the moment. After numerous letters about reclaiming and getting their standard issue reply back, I sent a letter claiming I'm currently in financial harship and would like my claim to be looked at now. They sent me the same standard reply?! So how do you actually get them to let you try and re-claim under financial harship? As far as I can see they don't actually read any of the letters I send...

Please read this sections of Martin's article:

  • "The guide says

Contact your bank urgently and tell it that under the FSA’s waiver rules you believe you fit the financial hardship criteria and would like your case to be dealt with straight away"

This is exactly what I did but they're not acknowledging my request, I've wrote letters and phoned them but I keep getting fobbed off. I have said I'm experiencing financial hardship, to which the replies are "Well you'll have to wait until the test case..." etc etc.

If you continue through the guide, you should see a section on contacting the Financial Ombudsman Service, which is the next stage if they ignore you.
  • Yes the more people who complain about LTSB the blacker their mark gets with the Ombudsman. As someone who has complained to the Ombudsman about LTSB and been successful, I want LTSB to suffer as much as I have through their incompentencies and inability to communicate effectively.
  • i am having exactly the same problem.. so frustrating isnt it!!!! i have now gone to the ombusman as i am sick of talking to battery hens.. and having the same crappy letters in reply?!
i suggest you do the same, please let me know how you get on. lucy

Lloyds have informed me that even under the hardship ruling their only obligation is to help customers out with future charges - they will not under any circumstances refund past charges. They can help with a payment arrangment if you are overdrawn, but other than that there are no refunds looming! I spoke to FOS and they have confirmed that this is their only obligation. Whilst most banks under this waiver are refunding out of "goodwill", Lloyds are not.
  • Hallo

Well...i'm currently in progressof reclaiming my money back...and feel a bit depressed after reading this, i just lost my job due to financial climate and after calculating all charges, i can get more or less my monthly wages, so it's worth it

I'm currently with Lloyds and was just wondering, on a letter what Lloyds address i need to put in....

    Thank yoou
