And then give the trolley in the car park to another shopper for £1 !!

    80p INSTANT PROFIT !!!!

Don't joke, my wife got ripped off £1 by a "nice looking old gentleman" he had used a piece of metal to fill the slot and took £1 off my wife in the carpark of Sainsburys as she was doing him a favour so he wouldn't have to walk back with his trolly...
  • I always use a penny now. On more than one occasion I have needed to abandon the trolley in store to take my son outside to find somewhere to relieve himself.

An unguarded trolley with a pound coin has proved too much temptation for somebody. It was gone when I went back into the store. So now I use the penny. You can pull the penny out again, and so not be out of pocket.

If you do do this, be sure to put the penny back in before you try to return the trolley, or the bar from the next trolley will not fit in.

Having paid £1 for the Lidl's trolley I always take them home.

I have a collection of 14 in the garden, I am thinking of using them a mobile hanging baskets this year.

Anyone know where I can get a cheap bulk purchase of moss to line the trolleys with, Garden Centres are too expensive.

The "reverse" of this can come in very handy in Hypermarkets in Calais or similar when doing a "duty free" run to France etc.

Often in the car park you may well be pested by French kids who want to help you unload the trolley, load up the car and then take the trolley back to the trolley bay for you.
Frequently they will hang around despite your protests that you can manage it yourself, until you have done it and then they still want to take the trolley back for you.

Why disagree with them when all it contains is a washer !!!!!!!!!!

There is a huge bloke in an airport I frequent (Palermo (Sicily) possibly...... how my memory falters with age!) who collects the trolleys left behind by tourists leaving the airport and the euro they each hold.....

Departures is upstairs and you cant get the trolley up the esculator! The trolley parks are in the car park outside and the lifts are always out of order (probably broken by said huge bloke)......... We saw him collect 15 in 20 minutes with a euro in each!!! A tourist grabbed one and he blew his top and nearly lifted the poor man off his feet with the abusive verbal volley.......

Anyway...... Did you know the Trolley Mafia originated fro Castlemere de Golfo in Sicily... not far from the airport! Anyway back yo Lidl's!

I ALWAYS make a FULL £1 - minus the cost (0.001p) of the homemade plastic washer (that fit all the trolleys in every supermarket) that I turn out by the hundred in a few minutes.

    Wanna buy some ?
    How much are they?

    £1 each?!? :rotfl:

Only if you buy them in singles. (and dont forget the £1 P&P per washer I charge :rotfl: )

They come cheaper if you bulk buy or take up any special 3 for 2 or BOGOF offers that I have running at any particular time.
I also accept money off coupons and vouchers to reduce the overall cost.
