Wembley CPZ Parking Ticket

Wembley Controlled Parking Zone – Issues

I parked on a single yellow line on a Sunday in Wembley, I had reluctantly taken the car as both tube lines were out of action.

When I came back – no car – it had been towed!

L B of Brent state that I was in a Controlled Parking Zone. It appears that I missed a single sign about ½ mile away (not in the road that I parked in).

I checked for signs in the road where I parked, there was nothing around the area or as I walked down the road.

One of the grounds that I appealed on was that they had ticketed the car at 10.08 and (by their own photos) were lifting it on to the tow truck at 10.33. However, I had not noted that Martin’s guide mentions that this relates to Pay and Display parking. L B of Brent say they can tow a car immediately it has been ticketed if it is on a yellow line…

I only parked there because I honestly thought that was legitimate on a Sunday.

Would anyone be able to suggest any other appeal grounds? I feel strongly that this is classic revenue generation - £260 that I can ill afford (since been made redundant and now out of work). If this was clearly signed (in Kensington and Chelsea there are signs everywhere warning that you can’t park) I would not have parked there.

All advice greatly appreciated.

Within A CPZ, single yellow lines do not need timeplates, they are the same time that applies to the whole of the area, which will be on the signs at the entry to the CPZ, such as:

    .
There should be one of these signs on both sides of the road at every possible entry point to the CPZ

Hi sacher - could you post that in a new thread on the board and include a scan of the PCN and other paperwork you were provided with at the car pound (front and back & remove personal details) as per these guidelines?

If you have any pics (or can get some) of the CPZ entry signs someone will be able to check whether these are compliant (i.e. like that shown in Orford's post above or permitted variants if applicable).

Sorry I can't move it into a new thread for you but BG tools aren't available at the moment (this board was altered yesterday).
