Looking for Balance Transfer but Unemployed

Hi, this is my first ever post here so hope I've got the right board
I owe more or less £9,700 on a credit card and want to transfer the balance over to a different card as I can no longer afford the monthly repayments. I phoned Virgin Credit Card this morning and was turned down on the grounds that I am unemployed and was told that this will probably be the case for most credit cards.
Is there any credit card companies that will take on someone that is unemployed?

You wont get one at 0% or one with a very high credit limit, you may be able to get one of the sub-prime ones (vanquis, capital one) but the credit limit will be tiny.
You are probably better entering a DMP, you shoul go to the "debt free wannabee" board they will be able to help you more.

You may be able to reduce your costs using credit cards you already hold. For details, see Martin's *Credit Card Shuffle*article.
