Wanted: Sofa bed at the same height as a normal bed?

Hi all, wondering if you can help. I am searching for a sofa bed, but I need the resulting bed to be comfortable and to be at the same height as a normal bed.
A lot to ask I know, but it is for my parents when they come on occasional stays (they can't make it up the stairs) and it needs to be as high as I can get it!
Thanks

This maybe not what you are wanting, especially if you actually need a new sofa to sit on as well as an occasional bed but have you thought of an air bed.
There is a make called Aerobed that make a 'Raised Aerobed' that is 66cm from the floor and inflate in about 3 minutes. (thinkaero.co.uk) My sister has one of these and my husband and I slept on it when we visited her in America. It was so comfortable that when she saw they were on special offer she bought me one and is bringing it over when she comes to UK in July (although we have to use a voltage converter because of the difference in voltages).
I just looked on ebay and there are some for 'buy it now' price of around £100 but you could try 'googling' for them. Do your parents stay often enough to warrent the extra space a sofa bed takes up?
Hope this helps,

I think the problem you'll get is .... if the bed-part is the same height as a normal bed, then the sofa-part will be much higher than a normal sofa. When I sit on the edge of the bed, my feet only just touch the ground - and I'm nearly 6ft tall!
Generally, sofa beds are designed to be "mainly a sofa and only sometimes a bed", if you see what I mean.
Sorry, can't help .... but can't help feeling that you'll struggle to find what you want.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac

But a metal action one will be fairly high, although not as high as a normal bed. And yu could always stand the sofa on blocks? DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j
