Scottish Power a real pain !
Haya
We decided to switch away from Scottish Power to another cheaper supplier. Everthing has gone smoothly so far and I am waiting to get my money back from SP. However I received an odd phone call yesterday from SP asking why I changed supplier "for another one cheaper I said", then 2nd question which one ?, well I declined giving the name of this company a/none of their business as the switch is done since 18 Nov b/ I do not see why they would need it as they should have this info anyway.
I was then said like "come on tell me the truth", which made me feel very cross. So I just asked him his name (hald understood what he said of course) and told basically that I would complain about him (or anybody else) if they evers calls back. The only thing: I do not know where to complain, anybody would give me some contact details in case SP continues this pretty basic sales tactics ???

This is a partly a marketing ploy to give the customer one last chance to stop the transfer, but is also in case the customer has been conned and switched to another fuel company without knowing about it.
There is usually a letter as well, asking the customer to confirm that the new company really does offer a better deal, asking the customer to reconsider, and giving a telephone number to ring to stop the switch.
However, they should not need to ask for the name of the new fuel company, because it was that company who told them that the customer wanted to switch.0 -
Hi acc !
I had indeed this letter but I still found this last phone call extremely rude and a poor doorman sale tactic.A shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist.
