Hi All,
I was looking to take out insurance for my two week holiday in may in Skegness (I know but it great!) The reason being my dad has terminal lung cancer and I want to be able to recover the cost of the holiday if I have to cancel or leave early as he insists that I still go! But I just read on one that I cannot Claim cancellation if a close relitive dies that is not insured! does this mean I cannot take insurance? or do I get special Insurance? I am really confused I would be very grateful for any advice or suggestions, Thanks

You aren't quite right. Normally you can claim cancellation costs following the death of an uninsured close relative, but the relative needs to be free from serious or terminal illness at the time the insurance is taken out.
In your scenario, then you will find it difficult to get any cover should you cancel because of death due to the cancer.0 -
Could you make arrangements that can easily be cancelled?
e.g. get a hotel that can be cancelled free of charge up to 2p.m. on day of arrival.0
