Dippy council..

I parked my car yesterday in a car park and inserted my money into the machine, there were 2 attendants near by who saw me but the machine eat my money, when i asked them what i should do they told me to ring the no on the machine which i did and the office was closed (open at 8.30am-5,30pm, this was at 9-30am!) i asked if i could put a note on my window and was told i would be ticketed if i didn't purchase another..great seeing as i had no more money and i needed to park..luckily a friend drove in and leant it me.

I got through at around 10.30am and complained and without sounding petty have agreed to them sending me a claims form (for a whole £1.20!) it is the prinicipal really and the unhelpfulness tbh.

I have the form and it says amongst other bits:

Was a ticket purchased from another machine? if not you will not be eligiable for a refund as the money you put in will account for this??? well the machine eat it so how is that justified? if my friend hadn't have come in then i wouldn't have had any choice other than to leave which i think is unfair as still lost my money..do you think i should put this in my comments bit?

    No.

The question is was a ticket purchased from another machine, in your case it was so you can claim your £1.20

If you had not purchased another ticket and still parked and not got a fine, it would be unfair for you to claim for the £1.20 that the machine ate.
