I have a horrible cold - sore throat, runny nose, ear ache, aches and pains... (and I'm a massive wimp... I'm not massive just my wimpy-ness is, well glad we got that sorted... )
I'm not a massive fan of paying ridiculous amounts for medicine like Day/ Night nurse, Lemsip etc...
Do you have any cheap cold remedies?
I take echinacea (but that's still expensive) and I've tried steaming my face...

Note this is NOT medical advice.
Have you ever tried drinking lemon juice and honey? Tastes lovely and full of goodness.0 -
I'll second the hot lemon and honey (and I sometimes add a splash of whisky too, makes me feel MUCH better!)
Not a cure, but is very soothing

I think I may have to add a pancake to the lemon and honey
I shall try drinking it...
(I am just asking about natural things - like honey and lemon, or other foodstuffs/ wive's tales etc that'll help the cold... so hopefully advice on that is allowed, though I take your point about medicines, so no medicine advice!)0 -

No, it's those things that aren't allowed
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this: Sorry, giving or asking for medical advice is not permitted on this forum as it’s not what this site is about. While discussing medical insurance policies, cheaper ways to see consultants, cashback for alternative health treatments and how to get specific medication cheaper (legally) are all perfectly acceptable we ask you specifically not to discuss what to do in the event of certain medical problems (please see this rule on the Health Board). If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.
