CTC calculation details

I am a single mum, I earn roughly 33-34k per year, I pay £115 a week for childcare, prior to little one being awarded DLA I got £80 per week CTC (I have 2 children), following DLA award I now get £149.77 a week CTC, because of the disability element, so it could be that your award is correct as I was shocked that mine went up by so much even though I work full time.0

            The plot thickens...
I now think that maybe we are entitled to this extra money. I thought that we weren't, because I worked for a number of months this year. BUT - apparently the award is still based on LAST year's income (when I wasn't working) even though our actual income this year is higher (so long as our actual income this year is not more than £25k higher than last year - which it isn't).
 Ouch, my head hurts.
Hopefully this will all be confirmed in black and white at some point...
Do you work? If so - then the figures you posted above used the wrong threshold. If you are entitled to WTC (even if your income is too high to receive it) the threshold is £6420 not 15575. The higher threshold is only for those who are entitled to CTC only.
The post made by Mitch AA seems to me to have the figures wrong. However, figures can vary depending on which threshold you are talking about.

Also, with regards to your question about income. Your 2008-2009 award (current award) will be finalised by comparing your actual 2008-2009 income to your 2007-2008 income.
As long as you have not had a rise in income of £25,000 or more between the two then your final award will use the 2007-2008 income.
So from what you are saying, you worked this year but did not last year. Providing the difference between the two is less than 25k it will still go on last years income.
With the DLA Higher rate care for your child, you will be entitled to the extra child premium.
