Hardship Factors

Hi money savers. After Reading about people can reclaim if you are in hardship i noticed that one of the reasons can be if you have started a lower paid job.

Now i have not actually started a lower paid job, but had my hours cut signficantly, where I was earning about £220 p/w i am now earning about £140. which leaves me with just about enough to get by on.

Do you think that i would be still be able to claim, under the reason off having a lower paid job now. as they owe me about £1000, and the money would really make a difference.

Thanks

Matt

Matt, some people are clinging onto hardship because they think the bank will pay out just because of one factor. From my reading of MSE the reality on the ground is about "extreme" hardship which means that you have rent/mortgage/utilities/council tax arrears. Even then, some banks are freezing charges rather than refunding them, which is still a positive because it means that they are not taking money out of your budget that can be spent on paying those bills. Hope that clarifies the hardship waiver. However, there is nothing that stops you from writing to the bank today.
