Error on Registration Number

I recieved a parking ticket and on the actual ticket the registration is correct. However I have gone onto the website to pay and it wont pick up my registration number. On typing in the ticket number the registration is wrong by 1 letter at the start- W??? instead of N???

Would I be able to get away with not paying it?

First things first. Who is the ticket from? Are you absolutely sure it is correct?

If it's a council ticket, let us see ALL of the ticket, as well as photos of the road markings & sign. If they are not correct, the ticket may be unenforceable.

If private, don't waste your money.

The website is totalparking.co.uk the postal address is TPS Parking Solutions Ltd.

Read the stickies. You have NOT been fined. It is an entirely unenforceable invoice.

Put it in a drawer and forget about it.

You will get several more, each more threatening, with chequered border, bold print, even RED print. But you have nothing to worry about.

It's just lucky that you were saved from yourself by their incompetence!

If they have the reg wrong they won't even be able to send these scary letters as they will look up the wrong reg with the DVLA some other poor person might get the letters.

This is what is confusing me. On the actual "ticket" the registration is correct, it doesnt look like its from a carbon copy or anything just that one. Search on the website doesn't bring up anything, put the ticket number in and it brings up the wrong reg. So there has obviously been a mix up somewhere between writing the ticket and inputting it in their system.

Just worried that this is just a mistake and somewhere they still have the real reg!

Grrrr.

You HAVE read the information about private parking tickets, haven't you? Nothing to worry about at all!

It does not matter whether they have the reg number right or wrong, you still do not have to pay. At the worst they have got a correct copy somewhere, they will hassle you with a few scary letters and maybe the odd threat but in the end they give it up as a bad job and move on to a more gullible motorist. At the best (well for you) they have only got the wrong number then some poor soul will get an invoice which they have no idea of. There's no way of knowing which, you'll just have to wait. Get on with life and forget the losers.

I have yes been trawling through threads, just seems everyone else has had the error on the initial invoice.
