No, of course I don't mind! ... please feel free to use it wherever appropriate if you're happy with the slight reformat
I've also printed off a copy to give to someone I know is struggling with bank charges, and have also pointed them in the direction of your website"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

My bank LTSB have offered me 500.00 less than the amount i requested from them. Is there a sample letter anywhere please for refusing the offer and stating the original amount requested still stands?0

look in the forums, in the library section.
there is a FAQ on the forum pages, and step-by-step instructions. i would advise reading both thoroughly before you do anything else.0 -
May be worth listing one or two more recent pieces of case law? 1915 and 1962 are a bit outdated, although still a piece of case law, the bank may read the letter and think "well this does not apply to us as it's so old".
P.S. I got a U in AS law.0 -
I completely agree. (although I bet you typed that last post carefully - how embarrassing would that be?)ATD - attention to detail. If you're writing a legal letter, there is no excuse to be sloppy (which I'm sure you were not being - you were just in a rush). Its about apperance, you need to show the bank that they are not dealing with some average joe off the street, but someone who is clued up and knows what their rights are.

sorry to be a dummy - i just stumbled across this thread.
Are you all saying that when TSB charged me for going over my overdraft limit on a couple of occasions for a 24hr period they are not allowed to?
It's clearly written in the T&C's that i signed to that this could happen so i don't see what is 'illegal' about it0 -
David Moore read some other threads or do a search for bank charges, there must be literally thousands of posts but to save you some time, yes they can not be lawfully passed on to you as they do not represent the actual losses the financial institutions have suffered from your breach of contract which essentially makes them unenforceable by law. There is a fairly straight forward process but dchurch over will assist you best.0

I went over my overdraft limit 3 times at a charge of £50 a time i think it was. I left that bank becasue of that so little chance of me recouping that cost0
