Calling DWP Band C's & Band B TDA's

Question:

What is the lowest rate that band C's are on presently?

Also when on TDA do you get the full rate of the band you are training towards.

thanks in advance

  • Band C rate is about £19500 and TDA is paid at either your current salary +£10% or the band C minimum, whichever is the greater.
  • Sorry, what's TDA? I'm grade C in Bucks and on around 22k but that's because it's a Special Pay Location. london is a bit more. Originally from Norfolk where the starting salary for grade C is about £19,600 or there abouts. Think that's the normal national salary.

  • TDA - temporary Duties Allowance.. old school TP, acting Up etc etc.

Salary minumum is £19,650 for Band C
  • Ahh sorry, so many acronyms!!

If it's anything like the company I work in, then a letter from God should suffice......or have a face that fits.
  • atomic sheep, as far as I know you just get a little more each year until you reach the maximum-like the old pay scales. With TDA-if you are training you don't get this do you, as the person who is in the job is still being paid. I know that for TDA for Band D, the deputy manager only gets the payment if the actual manager is on annual leave-if they act up just because the manager is at a meeting all day, they don't get paid anything extra. Does that make sense?
  • When the bands go up every year that's just the wages going up with inflation I think so that the lower earnings will also go up if you get me. I've spoken to colleagues that have been here over 10 years and still haven't reached the highest earnings. I think depending on your appraisals/PDAs/SASis/interim reviews, if you've done well then it goes up a bit but only by a couple of hundred pounds.

haha, its a joke isn't it, progressing to max, thats like in the olden days when you were moved up a spine point, gone are those days, we're lucky to get a "pay rise"!
