I thought if she is off supply they must either deliver a gas card or arrange a wind-on where they will credit your meter within 4 hours.
  • no my daught as just phoned them and was told reason for not coming out was children were 11 and 12-so have to wait for new prepayment card to come in post

just wondering are we in a 3rd world country now??????

Why does she not have a card?
Is it their fault she doesn't have a card?

Why should anyone with children of that age be given special treatment?

And no, we are not in a third world country. We pay taxes and provide extraordinarily generous benefits to families with two children. Perhaps your daughter could use her weekly child benefit on what it is intended for instead of what it used to be wasted on that prompted her move on to prepayment meter in the first place?

What a bad parent (both generations.)

That remark was uncalled for. How do you know she did not move into a property with a PP meter already installed?.

    Norfolkshops

Suppliers have to make judgement calls all the time. It would help to know if her card is faulty or did she lose it? I have to say if I went for 4 months throughout the winter a few years ago without any heating I am sure the children of that age can cope for a couple of days. Very young children count as a priority but not the age you have quoted

You really do seem like a very bitter, lonely person. Please shut up. Or take your bitterness elsewhere....

by the way edf this morning could not stop saying sorry and sent some one round and put gas on her meter
  • EDF are the most craptastic prepayment gas meter people I have ever dealt with. We are in the same position last week. They fitted the gas meter but didnt give a card. We said everything from the fact that we had a guest with a 9 month baby.. they didnt do ANYTHING and they didnt send anyone out.

We were without gas for 4 days and when they did send one and we charged the card with 30 pounds..they deducted 15 pounds and the meter read 15 pounds..claiming they gave us a 15 pound wind-on when the meter was fitted. Ummn... 15 pound gas that lasted 2 days? ( with all heating turned off?) - I dont think so.
