• Cheapest isn't always best, better to ask people from your part of London for personal recommendations - London is a big place! Also Quick! Grabbit is not really the ideal place for a question like this...
Thanks to all who post constructively.

Are you a student? know some places do student rates (not sure on whom exactly as I cannot drive/not ever taken lessons!) also ask at your bank as some banks have links- ie you get such and such a service and you save x amount on your driving lessons, again, ask your bank as its normally part of a package for certain accounts.

As Roger_rampant says cheapest is not always best - i would rather pay £25 a lesson and pass first time after 10 lessons than pay £15 and need 30 lessons as the instructor is no good.

I did that, booked 10 lessons with the AA and passed,I actually took the lessons in 5 blocks of 2,I found that I cut down the wasted time at the start of each lesson (picking me up,formalities, going over previous lesson). The instructor let me drive further afield as the time span of the lesson was longer.

Bit of a money saving idea actually.;)

Also remember that an instructor who has to cut his prices to attract pupils may be doing so as his reputation isn't good enough to attract them at a higher price.

When i was learning many years ago one particular instructor was that in demand there was a waiting list to go with him. However he was a fantastic instructor with a very high pass rate. He got away with charging a higher rate as he was good value for the money.

Hi Chutki,
It depends really where you are based too. I am aware of a very good instuctor but he is in the Barking, Ilford area. Let me know if ur interested il pass his number on to you.
• Do bear in mind if it's cheap it may not be an ADI (Approved Driving Instructor) They may be in their training period so check if they are or not.

Hello chutki

The 'Motoring & Public Transport' board is better suited for your thread, so I'll move it across.

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.
