Current account

hi all dont know if this is in the right place so forgive me if it isnt! Right both me and my parents have current accounts with northern rock, ive noticed today that it says on their statements interested earned X amount then under it tax deducted X amount. But mine doesnt? is this something to worry about? Ive had this account since i was 14-15 now 20 and not to sure if they know im a tax payer? Any help welcome ;)

    You (or your parents on your behalf) probably completed a r85 when the account was opened. This is the form to advise you are a non-taxpayer.

    You need to advise the bank you are now a taxpayer and they will change your records.

    Good luck - my experience of removing R85's in banks tended to be met with the response "it's not something we do"
